Individual Therapy for Adults

Individual therapy with me is a collaborative, compassionate process.  My primary aim is to create a therapeutic environment where you're comfortable enough to freely reflect on areas of tension and pain in your current life: What is most difficult right now and what has been most difficult in the past? What would it mean for you to feel differently, to get unstuck and feel more flexible and confident while you navigate the wildness of this world?  Through the rhythm of regular sessions, we will make space for what has been hard to feel or name, bringing forward what has been hidden or tucked away so it can be reflected upon and healed. Therapy isn't a quick fix but is, instead, a pathway towards meaningful insight, greater self-understanding, and lasting change.

Areas of speciality:

  • Trauma, post-traumatic stress, individual and collective trauma

  • Grief and loss, including pet loss

  • Anxiety, worry

  • Chronic illness, chronic pain, new chronic health concerns

  • Medical trauma, including interpersonal and systemic medical harm

  • Caregiver/care partner stress, including healthcare provider stress and burn-out

My therapeutic work is informed by Control Mastery Theory, a psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy.  From that foundation, I draw from several modalities including the mindfulness practices of meditation and movement, harm reduction principles, Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am trained in both EMDR and Flash Technique and can bring both treatment modalities into our work together as needed.

Having spent 15+ yrs working in medical settings, I am passionate about supporting people in healing medical trauma and working towards a more empowered experience seeking healthcare. I look forward to the day where all of us can celebrate seeking care for our whole selves, body, mind and spirit.

Licensure Supervision for Oregon CSWAs

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am honored to be a board-approved supervisor for Clinical Social Work Associates pursuing licensure in Oregon. If you're looking for a supervisor who is committed to and enthusiastic about your professional development, you're in the right place!

Supervision with me is informed by the Discrimination Model of Supervision and our time together includes plenty of space for teaching, consultation, and emotional support.  You will find that I am patient, flexible, and endlessly encouraging of your clinical growth.  Themes of supervision include practice theory and clinical skills, case conceptualization, awareness and use of self in the clinical relationship, and ethical social work practice. We'll pay attention to the influence of relational dynamics, power, and systems and I routinely invite you to explore how your identity, values, and lived experience shape your clinical perspective and presence.  We will laugh together.  And, of course, we will do the work necessary to ensure you are well-prepared to pass your exam!

CSWA Supervision is provided at a rate of $100/hr for individuals, $150/hr for organizations.
